A Change in Pace.

Well after having almost all my time at Vodpod here this summer being focused around developing their iPhone application, it is an amazing feeling to actually see it in the store! You can find it here. The application should also probably see an update in the next few days with the obligatory duh-fixes of any software release.

Other than that, it was a pretty busy week for me. I’ve been trying to work on a portfolio for some of my freelance stuff and also keep up with all the TEC stuff; it has been a great ride though. After submitting our reports on the Post-PC era this week, I took a nice long rest that night by watching an obscene amount of Seinfeld episodes. Needless to say, I love the show, and it always seems to get me in the right mood.

The session this week was pretty awesome and a nice change to the Palo Alto offices. There we had a seriously riveting discussion with Puneet Agarwal about cloud computing. After having attended GigaOm’s Structure Conference, I felt like I had learned a lot about cloud but couldn’t actually connect it to a lot of the technologies I actually used. Puneet’s presentation and discussion really expanded on that for me. I felt like I learned a HUGE amount of information then. We also visited the Milo offices in Palo Alto, which turned out to be awesome seeing how another start-up looked. Also, the actual dog Milo was epic.

The weekend was filled with, well, hiking and then recovering from said hiking. A bunch of the TEC interns went on a hike through the Marin Highlands. The hike lasted about 5 hours, and we covered a distance…of well, I’m not sure. I think we were just walking aimlessly for a few parts through the hike, but it was a great time and an awesome bonding experience.

It is hard to think TEC is just about ten days away from ending.

Hello ladies. How are you? Fantastic. I’m Ali. Do I attend your college? Maybe. Can you be sure? Yes. How can you know? If it’s New York University. Do you like things? Yes. What things? These things: Old Spice commercials, the potential of Windows Phone 7 UI, my iPhone 4, your iPhone 4, Ruby, rails, Ruby on Rails. Can I go? Yes.
