The highlight of my second week was definitely the Structure Conference by GigaOm. Coming from a non-technical background, I barely had any systematic knowledge about cloud computing before I started my internship. I work with Syncplicity, which also falls under the cloud computing area. It was great that some of the issues discussed in the [...]

I should really attend more conferences like this. I get so much new Twitter traffic!

Just finished up another awesome week out here in San Francisco with GigaOM and True. Highlights of my week include meeting the other four interns (Qiyun, Stephanie, Chris, and Nik) for lunch at Paragon, attending one of GigaOM’s Bunker Series sessions, learning about the venture capital industry/silicon valley in general with Jon Callaghan & Tod [...]

Timing

During our time together last Thursday, we briefly talked about the importance of timing in the entrepreneurial process. Over the weekend I happened to read an interesting article that paralleled the importance of timing: A man named John Joseph Houghtaling died at the age of 92; he invented the Magic Fingers Vibrating Bed in 1958. [...]

Hey all! It has been an awesome week with B-Stock Solutions and GigaOM’s Structure ’09 Conference. Realizations from this week: 1. Everyday here is a learning adventure. When I get home I find myself filling my journal with pages and pages of new things I have learned throughout the day – from finance to cloud [...]

From the moment I accepted the opportunity with True Ventures to the end of my first week on the job, my view on entrepreneurship has been shaken twice. Before arriving I had a pretty good idea what being an entrepreneur was all about. I had personally gone through the idea generation phase, executing upon that [...]

The first week was busy and fun. I work with Syncplicity, a company that offers synchronization and collaboration software for consumers and businesses. My first project is to research competitors and compile a competitive analysis. Easy as it sounds, it turns out to be a challenging and time-consuming project. Never had experience with Sync software [...]

This week, we got together at Pier 38 for our first afternoon at the True Headquarters. Although I have previously had the opportunity to study and meet with a number VCs as part of a field study course at BC, I was able to learn a lot from Jon who gave us some great insight [...]

This week I have continued to update and analyze data so that we can make more accurate and meaningful decisions in our CPM Media Buy campaign. Just since posting this time last week, we have experienced substantial drops in customer acquisition cost as a result of our ongoing efforts to optimize. We have put in [...]

Running up Mission St at 8:05AM, not knowing whether to curse Google or my watch for failing to match “MUNI Time.”

Gathering with my co-workers during lunch to be entertained by “Swoops,” the angry Blackbird that attacks only *the unsuspecting* passersby on Front St. http://www.frontstreetattackbird.blogspot.com/

Having lunch at True Ventures on an uncharacteristically warm San Francisco afternoon, with some of the brightest people I’ve ever met–and receiving a Dr. Seuss book as required reading for the program.

…And I haven’t even talked about my work yet!
